Reward and Punishment Sensitivity are Associated with Cross-disorder Traits

چکیده
Reversal learning deficits following reward and punishment processing are observed across disruptive behaviors (DB) attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), have been associated with callous-unemotional (CU) traits. However, it remains unknown to what extent these altered reinforcement sensitivities linked the co-occurrence of oppositional traits, ADHD symptoms, CU Reward sensitivity perseverative behavior were therefore derived from a probabilistic reversal task investigate in participants DB (n=183, ODD=62, CD=10, combined=57, age-range 8-18), (n=144, 11-28), controls (n=191, 8-26). The SNAP-IV Conners rating scales used assess Inventory traits was Decreased symptom severity (p=0.018) if corrected for symptoms. symptomatology interacted on perseveration (p=0.019), former aggravating effect vice versa. Within pooled sample, alterations underpinned by hyposensitivity increased perseveration. These results show as opposed is decreased reward-based adolescents adults.

Decision-making patterns and sensitivity to reward and punishment in children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Earlier studies have demonstrated that attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is associated with aberrant sensitivity to rewards and punishments. Although some studies have focused on real-life decision making in children with ADHD using the Iowa gambling task, the number of good deck choices, a frequently used index of decision-making ability in the gambling task, is insufficient for ...
متن کاملReward and punishment sensitivity in women with gambling disorder or compulsive buying: Implications in treatment outcome
Background and aims Gray's Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory has been widely applied to different clinical populations, but few studies have reported empirical evidence based on this theory for treatment outcomes in patients with gambling disorder (GD) and compulsive buying (CB). The aims of this study were to explore the association between clinical variables and personality traits with reward ...
متن کاملReward and Punishment Sensitivity in Children with ADHD: Validating the Sensitivity to Punishment and Sensitivity to Reward Questionnaire for Children (SPSRQ-C)
This study validates the Sensitivity to Punishment and Sensitivity to Reward Questionnaire for children (SPSRQ-C), using a Dutch sample of 1234 children between 6-13 years old. Factor analysis determined that a 4-factor and a 5-factor solution were best fitting, explaining 41% and 50% of the variance respectively. The 4-factor model was highly similar to the original SPSRQ factors found in adul...
متن کاملNeural sensitivity to social reward and punishment anticipation in social anxiety disorder
An imbalance in the neural motivational system may underlie Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). This study examines social reward and punishment anticipation in SAD, predicting a valence-specific effect: increased striatal activity for punishment avoidance compared to obtaining a reward. Individuals with SAD (n = 20) and age, gender, and education case-matched controls (n = 20) participated in a fun...
